Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said if Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was really concerned about the interests of the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) or minority communities, then he should have appointed someone from these sections as the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha.
Addressing public meetings in Rohtas and Kaimur districts, Singh termed Rahul Gandhi’s allegation of ‘vote theft’ as ‘unnecessary and baseless’. He said that if Rahul Gandhi has evidence, he should complain to the Election Commission.

Rajnath Singh said, ‘If Rahul Gandhi really cares about Scheduled Castes, Tribes or minorities, he should have made someone from these communities the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha.’ Rahul Gandhi became the leader of the opposition after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Counterattack on allegations of vote theft
The Defense Minister said, ‘If Rahul Gandhi feels that votes are being stolen in Bihar, then he should complain to the Election Commission with evidence. But he is not doing this. He is only making baseless allegations against a constitutional institution. He is lying.
Congress accused of ‘divisive politics’
The Defense Minister accused Congress of creating rift in the society in the name of caste, religion and sect and said that this is part of its ‘divisive politics’. He said, ‘Rahul Gandhi is raising the issue of reservation in defense forces. Our armed forces are above all these things. He should not be dragged into politics.
BJP supports reservation: Rajnath Singh
He said, ‘Bharatiya Janata Party supports reservation. We have given reservation to the poor and eligible sections of the society. Singh praised the success of the armed forces in ‘Operation Sindoor’ and said that it ‘has stopped, not ended’. He said, ‘If terrorists try to attack India again, we will give a strong reaction. India does not provoke anyone, but if someone provokes us, we will not spare him. The Defense Minister said, ‘India is no longer a weak country. Today we are recognized as a powerful nation in the world.
