Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra has passed away. The actor known as He-Man breathed his last at the age of 89. Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for the last several days and he died during treatment there. There has been a wave of mourning in Bollywood due to the demise of the veteran actor. The news of Dharmendra’s demise has been given by Bobby Deol’s PR team.
Dharmendra was having trouble breathing
Dharmendra had reached the hospital for regular checkup on October 31, 2025. He was having trouble breathing, after which the actor was admitted. Dharmendra was in ICU for the last several days, after which on November 10, reports came that his health was critical. In such a situation, Hema Malini, Sunny Deol, Esha Deol, her grandsons Karan Deol and Rajveer Deol had reached the hospital to meet him.

While talking to ABP News, Singer Udit Narayan said, ‘I can’t believe it after hearing that Dharamji is gone. Dharam Paaji was the most handsome hero. Looking at him one felt what a hero he was. There is such a hero in our country. Was proud to see him. He will always be immortal. May his soul rest in peace. Dharmendra paaji was very friendly. He loved everyone. He was also associated with his farm and barn. A farmer’s son wrote history.’

Raza Murad said, ‘A phase passed with Dharmendra. He ruled the people, the audience and the entire country for 65 years. Despite being such a big star, no starism was seen in his nature. Were friendly. He was an emotional person. He was very brave. Used to laugh and joke a lot.’

Made Bollywood debut in 1960
Dharmendra’s full name is Dharmendra Kewal Krishna Deol. He was born on 8 December 1935 in Nasrani village of Punjab. He started his acting career with the film ‘Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere’ released in 1960. After this he appeared in a supporting role in the 1961 film ‘Boy Friend’.
About Dharmendra’s family
Dharmendra married twice in his life. His first marriage was with Prakash Kaur from whom he has four children – Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta Deol and Ajita Deol. After this, the late actor married Hema Malini in 1980 without divorcing his first wife. Dharmendra had converted to Islam for his second marriage. He has two daughters with Hema Malini – Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.

Dharmendra worked in many hit, superhit and blockbuster films in his 65 years of acting career. Sholay (1975), Chupke-Chupke (1975), Sita Aur Geeta (1972), Dharamveer (1977), Phool Aur Patthar (1966), Jugnu (1973) and Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973) are included in the list of his brilliant films. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani (2023) and Teri Baton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024) are her recent released films.
Dharmendra’s last film will be released after his death
After his death, his last film ‘Ikkis’ will be released this year. In this film, actor Agastya will be seen in the role of Nanda’s father. Agastya Nanda is the grandson of veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan who is going to make his Bollywood debut at the age of twenty-one. This film will be released in theaters on December 25, 2025.
