UP Board Exam 2026: UP Board made a big change in the datesheet of 10th-12th, now these papers will be held on this date


A big news has come out for lakhs of students appearing in the UP Board Examination 2026 to be conducted by Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council (UPMSP). Changes have been made by the board in the datesheet of high school (10th) and intermediate (12th) examinations. Now the examinations of Hindi and Sanskrit subjects will be conducted in different shifts than before. This change will affect students across the state.

According to the new schedule, UP Board examinations will start from 18 February 2026. Earlier, on February 18, the Hindi exams of both class 10th and 12th were held on the same day, in the same shift. But now under the revised time table, Class 10 Hindi exam will be conducted in the first shift (morning), while Class 12 Hindi exam will be conducted in the second shift (afternoon).

Changes in Sanskrit exam also

Along with Hindi, the exam date for Sanskrit subjects has also been changed. Earlier the Sanskrit paper was scheduled to be held in the first shift on 20th February, but now it will be held in the second shift on 12th March 2026. This change will give students additional time for subject-wise preparation, which is expected to have a positive impact on their examination performance.

This number of students will appear in UP Board Exam 2026

A total of more than 52 lakh students will appear in the 2026 examination of UP Board. Of these, 27,50,945 students will appear in class 10th and 24,79,352 students will appear in class 12th. This number is slightly higher than last year, which makes it clear that this time too the UP Board exam will be one of the biggest educational exams in the country.

Admit card release date

Admit cards of all the students appearing in the examination will be issued by January 2026. Students will have to collect their admit cards from the respective schools. The board has also clarified that it will be mandatory to carry a photo identity card (like Aadhaar card or Voter ID) along with the admit card to the examination centre. No student will be allowed entry into the examination hall without admit card and identity card.
