Shashi tharoor in aicc session: Lok Sabha MP and Congress Working Committee (CWC) member Shashi Tharoor said on Wednesday (April 9, 2025) that the Congress should not have anger, past and negative criticism but a party with hope, future and positive discussion. He gave a strong speech amid speculation of leaving the Congress at the AICC session.
He said, “In 2024, we got mixed results, our strength in the Lok Sabha doubled, but we had to face failures in the state elections. This AICC session should be a significant turn. We have to get back the lost votes since 2009, but we can achieve it only through creative criticism, not negativity.”
‘Congress serves all religions’
Shashi Tharoor said that our nationalism has been emphasized in the proposal, which lies in the good of all Indians. Our commitment to social justice and inclusion is central, because our constitution embraces the nation of all religions, languages, regions and castes and the Congress serves them all. We are standing for an inclusive India, where someone can be a proud Gujarati, Muslim and Indian together.
He said, “While some people try to divide the north and south. I, as a South Indian, assume that it is our shared responsibility to unite India. Leave the hatred, add India, I say. Ekta is our mission, then it does not matter where we are from.”
We are gathered today at a historic moment, and i’m proud to second the resolution moved by Shri Sachin Pilot.
It is a historic moment as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of mahatma gandhi’s presidency of the Indian National Congress and the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar… pic.twitter.com/j2LV5RL3X7

‘Our resolve revolutionary’
The Congress leader said, our resolve is revolutionary. It is based on social justice for the weakest people of our society. The main subject behind this resolution is to protect the weak and marginalized people – OBC, SC, tribal and minorities.
Remember party workers like this
He said, in the end, I would like to say that this proposal accepts the blood and sacrifice of all the anonymous party workers. You are the life of the party. Without you, there is no Congress party. Without you, this proposal would remain just a word. Thank you for your service.
