iOS 26.2 Beta 3: Apple has released the third developer beta of iOS 26.2 and surprisingly, despite being a mid-cycle update, it has brought many new features. Even after the major design redesign of iOS 26, Apple is continuously working on improving the system. Many important changes have been made in this update, from AirDrop to Games app, Reminders, Health integration and multitasking system of iPad. With every new beta, the company is also activating those features which were not included in the initial build and old shortcomings are also being rectified.
AirDrop Code Feature
The most special thing about this update is the AirDrop code system. Now users can generate a one-time code that allows any non-contact person to send or receive files for 30 days. Manage Known AirDrop Contacts section has also been added in Settings from where you can easily remove anyone and stop access. This feature will prove to be very useful for those people who often share files with offices or clients.
Hypertension alerts will now reach third-party health apps
Apple has also strengthened the health system. The new API now allows third-party apps to read high blood pressure alerts sent by Apple Watch. With this, developers will be able to create such apps that can keep a close eye on the health of the users.
New privacy notice for Apple Account
After installing Beta 3, users will see a new privacy prompt regarding the use of Apple Account data. This is a routine update but Apple shows such notices only when it wants users to be more conscious about their data.
Siri option can be found in Japan
The beta code shows that users in Japan will be able to choose another voice assistant in place of Siri by pressing the Side Button. This may include options like Gemini or Alexa. This change will currently be limited to Japan only where due to regulatory rules it may be necessary to give Apple the option.
Liquid Glass is designed and smart
Apple has updated the Liquid Glass interface to make it more user-friendly. Tinted mode will now automatically turn off accessibility settings that conflict with it, like Increase Contrast or Reduce Transparency. Additionally, the Liquid Glass look Level tool in the Measure app has also been upgraded so that the numbers appear clearer.
Major changes in Games app
A new splash screen appears in the Games app when you install iOS 26.2 Beta 3. Apple is preparing to add features like new sorting and filter tools, improved controller navigation and live challenge scores to the game library. The Games app is now moving from a simple folder to a full-fledged gaming hub.
Alarm feature in Reminders
The Reminders app will now sound an alarm for tasks marked urgent. This will be a faster and more attention-grabbing alert than normal notifications and can even bypass Focus mode if needed. An explainer card will also appear in the app when you use the feature for the first time.
The old way is back in iPadOS multitasking
There is good news for iPad users also. The multitasking capability missing from the iPadOS 26 redesign—the ability to drag an app directly from the Dock, App Library, or Spotlight into Split View or Slide Over—is back. Apple is making it clear with this change that it wants to make the iPad multitasking experience stable and smooth again. Apart from this, many improvements are also included in this update.
The Sleep Score categories have been modified after user feedback.
