India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval met his Bangladeshi counterpart Dr. Khalilur Rahman on Wednesday (November 19, 2025). This meeting between senior officials of the two countries has taken place for the first time after the death sentence awarded to former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by ICT.
Bangladesh’s NSA Dr. Rahman had reached New Delhi a day earlier on Tuesday (November 19, 2025) to attend the Colombo Security Conclave (CSC) meeting held on Wednesday (November 20, 2025). This meeting was hosted by Indian NSA Ajit Doval.
In this program organized by Pahal, the NSAs of India and Bangladesh were silent about any bilateral meeting. It was expected that Bangladeshi NSA Dr. Khalilur Rahman would also attend the dinner organized by NSA Ajit Doval on Wednesday (19 November). After this, he will attend the CSC meeting on Thursday (20 November) and then leave for Dhaka.

Bangladesh High Commission in India had issued a statement regarding this meeting. The High Commission said, ‘The Bangladeshi delegation led by NSA Dr. Khalilur Rahman, who arrived in New Delhi to attend the seventh NSA-level meeting of the Colombo Security Conclave (CSC), met India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his team on Wednesday (November 19, 2025). He discussed the work of CSC and important bilateral issues.
Meanwhile, during the meeting of senior officials of both the countries on Wednesday (November 19), Khalilur Rahman invited NSA Ajit Doval to visit Bangladesh.
Bangladeshis reached New Delhi within 2 days of Sheikh Hasina getting death sentence NSA
This visit of Bangladesh’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Dr. Khalilur Rahman to Delhi came within 48 hours after the International Criminal Tribunal-Bangladesh (ICT-B) sentenced former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to death for crimes against humanity.
Sheikh Hasina has been convicted by the ICT-B in cases that relate to her government’s efforts to suppress student protests in Bangladesh between June and August 2024. ICT Bangladesh has also sentenced Home Minister Asadouzzaman Kamal Khan to death.
