Bollywood stars have always been soft targets of gangs and underworld. Many times there have been attacks on film personalities and receiving threats has been a common thing in this era. Something similar happened with Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi. In 2009, during the shooting of the film ‘Kurbaan’, Vivek had received this threatening call. The actor had openly narrated his ordeal regarding this incident.
Threatening call came from Pakistan
Actually, during the shooting of the film, Vivek Oberoi had received a call from Pakistan. In which he was threatened with death. During a conversation with Pinkvilla, Vivek had told that I was shooting the film ‘Kurbaan’ in America. Then someone called and left a threatening message on the answering machine itself.
The actor had to become a lawyer in America
After this, Vivek first thought it was someone’s joke but still did not take this incident lightly. Vivek told that ‘I had also reported this incident to the local administration of America. Actually the local production people told me that it should be reported. To deal with all this, I had to hire a lawyer in America.
Received death threat on phone
Vivek told that police was called there and then interrogation started. I told the police, ‘I don’t know who they are, they were telling me that they will destroy me, they will blow up everything. He then traced that number to Pakistan. When he told me that this number was real, I felt scared.
Vivek got security in Mumbai
Vivek further said, ‘Then I felt worried about my safety. At first I thought someone had played a joke while drunk. But later I had to keep security for the safety of my family and myself. When I came back to Mumbai, the round of threats started again. Then I had to take police protection. Let us tell you that Vivek is seen in the recently released film ‘Masti 4’.
