Last week, Dharmendra’s health suddenly deteriorated after which he was admitted to the hospital. However, he was then discharged from the hospital. But today he passed away.

Dharmendra’s childhood was spent in a small village of Sahnewal in Punjab. He did his early education from Government Senior Secondary School, Sahnewal. Once upon a time, the same mud-stained grounds and walls of the school were where his dreams took flight.

After school, Dharmendra did intermediate from Ramgarhia College, Phagwara Punjab. He was good in studies but he was inclined towards films and acting since childhood. During his college days, he had decided that one day he wanted to earn name in the film world.

In the 1960s, he entered the film industry, his first film was ‘Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere’ and from here his real journey started, gradually he traveled from simplicity to stardom.

‘Sholay’, ‘Sita Aur Geeta’, ‘Chupke Chupke’, ‘Dharamveer’, ‘Betaab’, these films made Dharmendra ji the biggest name of Bollywood. His acting style and truthful style was reflected in every character.

Dharmendra set a new trend in the 70s with his body, action and simplicity. Fans fondly called him “Heman of Bollywood”. He proved that even a boy from a village school can win the hearts of the whole world.

In 2023, Dharmendra was seen again in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ and his last film ‘Ikkis’ was to be released in December 2025. Dharmendra was not just an actor, but a symbol of hard work, simplicity and dreams.
