On Monday, two private buses collided head-on in Tenkasi district of Tamil Nadu. 6 people died and 28 were injured in the accident. After the accident, there was chaos in the area and rescue operation was started immediately.
Heavy collision between two buses
According to the police, one private bus was going from Madurai to Shenkottai, while the other bus was going from Tenkasi towards Kovilpatti. Both the buses were badly damaged due to the sharp collision. Teams of local administration and fire department reached the spot and evacuated the passengers.
High speed and careless driving caused the incident
Talking to the media, a senior police officer said that according to the initial investigation, carelessness and high speed of the driver of the bus going from Madurai to Shenkottai seem to be the main reasons for the accident.
Treatment of 28 injured continues
All 28 injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals. According to health officials, the condition of many of the injured is very serious and the number of deaths is expected to increase. Police have started a detailed investigation into the incident. CCTV footage and statements of eyewitnesses are being collected to reach the cause of the accident. The administration has appealed to the people to follow road safety rules so that such accidents can be prevented.
