Veteran Hindi cinema actor Dharmendra has passed away. He breathed his last at the age of 89. Dharmendra, who was ill for a long time, was having trouble breathing and his health was continuously deteriorating. He was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital for routine check-up and treatment.
After treatment in the hospital for a few days, his condition improved slightly and he was taken home so that he could be treated with his family. Special arrangements were made for his care at Dharmendra’s house, but his health continued to weaken.

Apart from difficulty in breathing, Dharmendra also had many other age related problems. Despite continuous treatment and monitoring in the hospital and at home, his condition remained critical. His family members were constantly engaged in his care. An ambulance and doctors were arranged at Dharmendra’s house, so that in case of any emergency, immediate help could be available.
His fans and many people from the film industry also kept taking updates about his health. Many celebrities like Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Govinda visited the hospital and home to inquire about Dharmendra’s well being. As soon as the news of his demise was heard, a wave of mourning ran in the entire film world.

Dharmendra’s career in Hindi cinema has spanned almost six decades. He was called the ‘He-Man’ of Bollywood. He started his career in 1960 with the film ‘Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere’. After this, he worked in many memorable films like ‘Shola Aur Shabnam’, ‘Anpadh’, ‘Bandini’, ‘Pooja Ke Phool’, ‘Haqeeqat’, ‘Phool Aur Patthar’, ‘Anupama’, ‘Khamoshi’, ‘Pyaar Hi Pyaar’, ‘Tum Haseen Main Jawaan’, ‘Sita Aur Geeta’, ‘Yaadon Ki Baaraat’ and ‘Sholay’.
