Faisal Patel, son of late Congress leader Ahmed Patel, has created a stir in the political circles by talking about starting a new group separate from the Congress. Refuting his brother’s claim, he has denied any intention of becoming a part of any new political party.
Mumtaz Patel wrote on social media platform My brother’s views and decisions are entirely his own. Please don’t involve me in this. Thank you.”

What did Faisal Patel write?

The screen short of the social media post of Ahmed Patel’s son Faisal Patel is going viral. In this he has written, “I am thinking of breaking the Congress party and forming a new group. This party will be named Congress (AP). My sister Mumtaz Patel can also join it.

Mumtaz also raised questions on Congress leadership

Recently, after the defeat of Congress in Bihar elections, Mumtaz Patel had raised questions on the party leadership. He had written, “No excuses, no allegations and no introspection. Now is the time to look within yourself and accept the truth. How long will the countless loyal grassroots workers, who have remained with the party through all difficult situations, wait for success?” He also alleged that due to concentration of power in the hands of a few people, they are completely cut off from the ground reality and are responsible for the repeated defeats of this old party.

A few months ago, Faisal Patel had also praised the Modi government at the Center and said that the country is in safe hands. However, during this time he had also said that he was not angry with the Congress and had taken a break for a few days from public life. It is noteworthy that late veteran leader Ahmed Patel was among the great strategists of Congress. He had won the Lok Sabha elections thrice from Bharuch, Gujarat. He was also a member of Rajya Sabha for almost three decades. He died of corona infection in the year 2020.
