Former RCB captain Faf du Plessis broke ties with IPL, said – I will play in PSL, India…


Faf du Plessis, who has played for four teams including RCB and Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League, will not be a part of the IPL 2026 auction. He confirmed through a post on social media that he will not participate in the mini auction to be held on December 16. Leaving IPL, he has decided to play in Pakistan Super League (PSL 2026).

41-year-old Faf du Plessis issued a statement on social media and wrote, “After playing 14 years in the IPL, I have decided that I will not be a part of the auction this time. This is a big decision.” Du Plessis further said that it was his good fortune to play with different players in different teams.

I am not saying goodbye to IPL…

Faf du Plessis further wrote in his statement, “14 years is a very long time. I am proud of what I have achieved during this period. India has a special place in my heart and this is not goodbye to the IPL. You will see me again.” Du Plessis also wrote that he is excited for the hospitality in Pakistan.

Faf du Plessis has captained RCB, while played for Delhi Capitals last season. He has scored 4773 runs in his IPL career of 154 matches, he also scored 39 half-centuries in his career. He described participating in PSL 2026 as a new challenge. Let us tell you that Du Plessis has played for 2 teams in PSL till now. He has played a total of 6 matches for Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi.
