Yamuna Riverfront Aerial View: Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has started hot air balloon ride for the first time in the capital from Saturday 29th November. It started from Asita East Park, where people got a chance to sit in a tethered balloon that took them to a height of 100 to 150 feet. From the top, a beautiful view of the newly decorated floodplain of Yamuna, the city skyline and the surrounding greenery is clearly visible. This initiative has been started by DDA recently after successful trials in Bansera Park located in Yamuna floodplain.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena himself took stock of the trial flight and described it as a “unique first-time experience for the people of Delhi”. He wrote on social media that this ride is completely operated by trend experts and follows all safety standards.
Where can I get this ride?
Now let’s talk about where you can get its ride. According to media reports, DDA is starting this ride in a phased manner at four locations. In this
- Asita East Park (the first location where the public ride started)
- Bansera Park
- Yamuna Sports Complex
- Commonwealth Games Village Sports Complex
During the ride, the balloon rises to a height of approximately 120 feet, from where the Yamuna riverfront, parks and major landmarks of the city are clearly visible.
Ticket price and when will the ride be available?
The ride has started for the general public at Asita Park from 29th November. According to media reports, the estimated price of the ticket has been kept at Rs 3,000 plus GST per person. A balloon basket can seat 3 to 5 people at a time, including the pilot. However, according to the need and demand, a bigger basket can also be installed, in which 8 to 10 people can travel together. Ride timings are kept from 3.30 pm to 7 pm daily. In the coming days, the service will be gradually extended to Bansera, Yamuna Sports Complex and CWG Sports Complex.
