In such a situation, if the biggest stars of the game want to return to this format again, then they should definitely play.

Pietersen said, “I don’t always believe everything that comes in the media. However, if it is even slightly true that Virat and Rohit are thinking of playing Test cricket again, then it is a big deal. The survival of Test cricket is being discussed, so if the world’s top stars want to return to this format, then they should come back.”

Test career of Kohli and Rohit

Virat Kohli had announced his retirement from Test cricket in May 2025. He scored 9230 runs in 123 test matches at an average of 46.85. Kohli’s Test career as captain has also been excellent. Where Team India remained the number-1 Test team for a long time.
