- In Tata Sierra, the company has given three engine options of 1.5 liter capacity, which give the SUV a power of 75.8 kW and torque of 139 Nm. This model is available in both manual and automatic transmission. On the other hand, Maruti Grand Vitara comes with all three engine options – petrol, CNG and hybrid. It has a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated engine, which generates power ranging from 92.45 PS to 103.06 PS and torque ranging from 122 Nm to 136.08 Nm. This SUV is also available in both manual and automatic options and is capable of giving a mileage of 19.38 to 27.97 kmpl.
Which SUV has more features?
- Many premium features have been provided in Tata Sierra. This includes LED headlights, 360 camera, three-screen setup, wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, HypAR HUD, dual zone climate control, 12-speaker Dolby Atmos system, 5G connectivity, large panoramic sunroof, ventilated and electric seats, air purifier, cooled glove box, powered tailgate and multiple drive modes. Maruti Grand Vitara also gets good features, which include LED lights, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, head-up display, wireless charger, paddle shifters, cruise control, push start/stop, rear AC vent and Suzuki Connect.

- In terms of safety, Tata Sierra offers many modern features like 6 airbags, level-2 ADAS, ESP, traction control, hill-hold, electronic parking brake, TPMS, 360 camera, rear wiper-defogger and ISOFIX. In comparison, Maruti Grand Vitara also has features like 6 airbags, hill descent control, hill hold, TPMS, 360 camera and electronic parking brake.
Which SUV is more economical?
- The starting price of Tata Sierra has been kept at Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while the prices of other variants have not been announced yet. Maruti Grand Vitara comes with a starting price of Rs 10.77 lakh (ex-showroom) and its top model goes up to Rs 19.72 lakh. Price wise, the Grand Vitara currently appears to be the more affordable option.
