She is getting married next year and has recently bought a new car, so there is a lot of financial pressure. Ng wrote, “A friend of mine left his 25 lpa+ job to become a Swiggy / Rapido driver. No, I am not kidding. His parents called me to console him, they were really crying. He is going to get married next year and has just bought a car.
Friend’s business model ready
However, he has taken this step very thoughtfully. Angie said, “He lives near a university, where a lot of students and office workers come.” He is leaving his job and starting a cloud kitchen with a runway of 6 months, but before starting it, he had to first prepare the menu. To find out which food items were most liked in his area, he became a delivery boy for a few weeks.
Angie told that her friend has already shortlisted 12 SKUs which she believes can be sold at lower prices but in higher volumes. Its business model is estimating profits in three-four months.
People praised his courage
Even after knowing about his plan, his friends and family are not agreeing. “His parents are still against it and friends are also making fun of the decision,” Ng said. He also has to face a lot of insults like the watchman shouting at him for using the lift etc. But he is adamant on his point.
Ng said, “Now I am also supporting him 100 percent. I hope everything goes well for him in the future.” People on social media are praising the courage of Ng’s friend. Some are calling it real market research, while others are saying that it takes courage to downgrade your lifestyle to improve the future.
