The video of a Nigerian woman passenger’s altercation with the airline staff at Hyderabad airport is going viral on social media. This incident took place at a time when IndiGo had canceled hundreds of flights across the country due to crew shortage and operational failure. Due to this the condition of airports has become miserable.
In the viral video, it can be seen how a Nigerian woman was seen arguing with the airline staff after her flight was cancelled. She angrily climbed on the counter. Expressing her displeasure and helplessness, the woman has accused the staff of negligence.

Why did such conditions arise at the airport?
Absence of pilots and irregularities in their duty schedules are being considered as the main reasons for this crisis. Indigo has apologized and said that it is trying to provide full refund and alternative flights to the passengers. Amidst the troubles of thousands of passengers and the bad reputation of the company, it will now be interesting to see what impact DGCA’s action will have on this entire controversy.
DGCA took cognizance of the matter
Taking cognizance of this matter, aviation regulator DGCA has issued a show-cause notice to IndiGo and sought answers from it as to what is the reason for the problem of continuous cancellation of flights and what steps are being taken to stop it.
Pile of suitcases at Hyderabad International Airport
The situation at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has gone out of control. Due to cancellation of 69 Indigo flights here alone, passengers and their suitcases were piled up. It’s not just a matter; Major airports of the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru have almost taken the form of railway stations, where passengers are seen sitting helpless.
Hashtag trending on social media
Passengers are continuously sharing stories of their plight on social media. Hashtags like #IndigoFail and #IndigoChaos are trending on Twitter, with complaints of flight cancellations, delays without notice and non-receipt of refunds.
