Five people died in a horrific road accident on Sunday (07 December) in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. Four men and a 17-year-old boy lost their lives in a collision between a car and a truck. Police gave this information. Police said that the accident took place in the early hours near Patratoli village of Duldula police station area when the people in the car were returning to their native place Khatanga after watching an ‘orchestra show’ at a fair near Manora.

Duldula police station in-charge KK Sahu said, “The head-on collision between the car and the truck was so strong that the car was completely damaged. All five people in the car died on the spot.” After the incident, some villagers reached the spot and immediately informed the police about the accident.

The official said that the deceased have been identified as Ramprasad Yadav (26), Uday Kumar Chauhan (18), Sagar Tirkey (22), Deepak Pradhan (19) and Ankit Tigga (17). All of them were Khatanga residents. Police station in-charge KK Sahu said that after the accident, the truck driver fled leaving the vehicle and the search for him is going on.

Earlier in the month of October, five people were killed and five others were seriously injured in a horrific road accident in Kawardha district of Chhattisgarh. This accident happened when a speeding truck hit a sports utility vehicle. The victims include three female teachers, a minor girl and the driver.
