In Pakistan, cases of kidnapping of women and girls from minority community are heard every day. Another case of kidnapping of a Hindu woman and her minor daughter has come to light in Sindh province. Both of them were forcefully taken away in a car by unknown gunmen. Officials said that this incident happened on Saturday in Sindhi Mohalla of Shershah in Karachi.
According to PTI report, the family said that three armed men forcibly took the woman into a white car as soon as she came out of the house. The local people are very nervous after this incident. Shiva Kachi, a civil rights activist from the Hindu community in Sindh province, said that Rani and her minor daughter are still missing. Her family fears that she will be forcibly converted to Islam and then married to one of her kidnappers.
He said, ‘We have lodged an FIR but the way the Hindu mother and daughter were kidnapped is a very worrying situation.’ Kachi appealed to senior police officers to pay attention to this and take action.
There are often reports of kidnapping of Hindu girls and women in Sindh province. They are being forcibly converted to Islam and then married to Muslim men. Most of the time they are married to older men.
KACHI has its office in Mirpurkhas, Sindh. Kachi said that he himself is receiving death threats from groups that are involved in the crime of kidnapping and forced conversion of Hindu girls. Most of them are girls from poor families.
He said, ‘I have received death threats over the phone and I fear for my life but I have informed the police about the matter and sought protection. Meanwhile, in another case, armed men tried to kidnap a Hindu girl who was recently married in Umerkot city of Sindh province.
Bhagvi was going home with her husband to meet her parents when armed criminals tried to kidnap her. However, due to the interference of people nearby, the armed miscreants could not succeed in their plan.
