When will JEE Advanced 2026 exam be held?
In 2026, JEE Advanced exam will be conducted by IIT Roorkee. Before this, the institute has released important information related to the exam like exam date and eligibility rules. According to the official schedule, JEE Advanced 2026 will be conducted on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at designated examination centers across the country.
Which students will be able to appear for JEE Advanced 2026?
Only those students will be able to appear in JEE Advanced 2026, who have secured a position within the top 2,50,000 ranks in JEE Mains 2026. Reservation will be applicable according to category, and PWD candidates will be given 5 percent reservation in each category. Apart from this, IIT Roorkee has also released new eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2026. According to this criteria, the candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2001. Whereas SC, ST and PWD category students have been given age relaxation of 5 years. Apart from this, candidates will be able to appear for JEE Advanced exam maximum twice and in two consecutive years.
Rules on 2024 passed out students
Candidates should appear for the 12th exam for the first time in 2025 or 26 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Students appearing for 12th exam in 2024 or before will normally not be eligible for this exam, although relaxation has been given in some special cases. Whereas if a candidate has earlier taken admission in any IIT course and has canceled the admission after seat allotment, then he will not be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026, however, candidates doing preparatory course in 2025 and not reporting despite being allotted seat in JoSAA 2025 will be able to take the exam.
JEE Advanced 2026 Application Process
Applications for JEE Advanced 2026 can start soon. The application will be announced on the official website. After this the eligible candidates will be able to apply for the examination. Along with the application, the candidates will have to deposit the prescribed fees according to the category. In this, women candidates, SC, ST and PWD will have to deposit a fee of Rs 1600. Whereas the remaining candidates will have to deposit a fee of Rs 3200.
