Baby Bottle Syndrome, also known as ‘Bottle Caries’ or ‘Nursing Bottle Caries’, is a dental condition, in which milk teeth of young children start rotting. This problem occurs when the child is repeatedly given milk, juice or sweet drinks from the bottle, especially while sleeping. The main reason for this is the sugar present in the liquid drinking bottle, which gives a chance to grow bacteria by accumulating on the teeth.

These bacteria form acids, causing the upper layer of teeth to be destroyed and cavity (teeth) problems. If its symptoms are ignored, then the child may face problems like falling teeth, gum infection and speaking.

Symptoms of baby bottle syndrome: White or brown spots on the teeth may be an early sign of cavity. Toothache or sensitivity, which is painful on eating cold-hot.
