The auction for IPL 2026 is being held in Abu Dhabi. Australian batsman Cameron Green’s name was in the first set, before him Devon Conway and Jake Fraser-McGurk were unsold. It was already predicted about Green that he would become the most expensive player of this year. Chennai Super Kings along with KKR were trying their best to buy him. CSK had reached Rs 25 crore for him, but KKR made a bid of Rs 25.20 and included him in their team.

What will happen to the money deducted from Cameron Green’s salary?

Cameron Green will get only 18 crores. Rs 7.2 crore will be deducted from his salary, however, the amount of the bid will be deducted from the purse balance of the IPL franchise. That means only Rs 25.20 crore will be deducted from KKR’s purse. This means the franchisee will not benefit from it.

Let us tell you that the remaining amount will be redirected to the player welfare programs run by BCCI. This means that Kolkata Knight Riders will pay Rs 18 crore to Green, and the remaining Rs 7.20 crore will go to BCCI.
