School time changed in Patna after the effect of cold and fog
In view of the severe cold and dense fog in Bihar’s capital Patna, the district administration has changed the school timings. From December 20 to December 25, 2025, schools will run from 10 am to 3:30 pm. This order will be applicable to government-private schools, pre-nursery, nursery and Anganwadi centres, although board and pre-board classes have been exempted from this.
Cold wave havoc in Uttar Pradesh, holiday in 16 districts
Due to cold wave and dense fog in Uttar Pradesh, schools have been closed in 16 districts. As per the orders of DM, all boards and recognized schools will open directly on 22nd December. In Uttar Pradesh, schools up to class 12th were closed in Sambhal, Kanpur, Kanpur Dehat, Orai, Hardoi, Auraiya and Ambedkar Nagar. Whereas in Rampur, Bareilly, Gonda, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit, Jaunpur, Kasganj and Badaun, instructions have been given to keep classes up to eighth class closed. Apart from this, the timing of schools has also been changed in some districts.
School timings changed in Punjab and Haryana
At present, there is no order to close schools for the entire state in Punjab and Haryana. But due to dense fog in the morning, schools are starting late in many districts. Winter vacation in Punjab will be from 22 December to 10 January. Whereas winter break in Haryana will start from January 1.
