Iran hanged on charges of espionage
Meanwhile, Iran has hanged a person accused of spying for Israel. According to state TV, the hanged man was identified as Aghil Keshavarz, 27, who was accused of working for the Mossad. Iranian media claim that Keshavarz had taken photographs of military and security targets, including a military headquarters. He was arrested in Urmia city in the month of May. It was reported that he was an architecture student and he was accused of being involved in more than 200 espionage activities.
Supreme Court upheld the death penalty
According to the report, a case was filed against the accused, the trial court sentenced him to death and later the Supreme Court of Iran also upheld this sentence. After this he was hanged on Saturday.
Strictness increased after 12 day war
Since the 12-day air war between Israel and Iran in June, Iran has so far hanged 11 people on charges of espionage. About 1,100 people were killed in this conflict in Iran, which included many senior military commanders and nuclear scientists. At the same time, 28 people in Israel lost their lives in Iran’s missile strike.
