Rajasthan government is continuously running many schemes to increase equality, brotherhood and mutual understanding in the society. One of these important schemes is Dr. Savita Ben Ambedkar Inter-Caste Marriage Promotion Scheme. The objective of this scheme is to break the social walls created on the basis of caste and to encourage people to marry without any discrimination.
Even today, many types of obstacles are seen in our society due to caste. Many times people are not able to marry just because they belong to different castes. To change this thinking and to give respect to inter-caste marriages, the Rajasthan government provides financial assistance under this scheme.
How much amount is available in the scheme?
If a Scheduled Caste (SC) boy or girl marries an upper caste Hindu boy or girl, the government provides an assistance of Rs 10 lakh. This Rs 10 lakh is given in two parts. In which the first fixed deposit (FD) of Rs 5 lakh is made, which remains locked for 8 years, the remaining Rs 5 lakh is deposited directly into the joint bank account of the husband and wife. This not only provides immediate financial help to the couple, but also provides security for the future.
Who can take advantage of the scheme?
To take advantage of this scheme, some important conditions have to be fulfilled. Like one of the husband or wife should be from Scheduled Caste (SC), the person belonging to SC category should be a native of Rajasthan, both of them should not be more than 35 years of age, the age of the girl should be at least 18 years and the age of the boy should be 21 years, the total annual income of the husband and wife should not be more than Rs 2.5 lakh. This marriage should take place with the consent of both and without any pressure and this should be the first marriage.
When and how to apply?
1. It is necessary to apply for this scheme within one month of marriage.
2. To apply, both husband and wife should have Aadhar card and joint bank account.
3. First of all login with your SSO ID.
4. After this go to the Citizen section.
5. Click on the SJMS Application link there.
6. The application form will open, fill all the required information carefully.
8. After this upload the necessary documents and submit the form.
