Waqf Act West Bengal Murshidabad and Many Areas Violence Broke Out 3 People Died More Than 150 People Arrested | Violence will break in Bengal! Center sent 5 companies of BSF, High Court said- Can not blind eye

Violence took place in many areas including Murshidabad in West Bengal over the Waqf law, in which 3 people have died and many have been injured. More than 150 people have been arrested in other violence cases including Murshidabad. In view of the violence, the Calcutta High Court has ordered the deployment of central security forces.

In view of the violence in West Bengal, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan spoke through a video conference with the Chief Secretary and DGP of the state on Saturday (April 12, 2025). In addition to about 300 BSF personnel in the violence affected Murshidabad, 5 more companies have been deployed.

Complete development so far regarding Murshidabad violence
Violence erupted in Malda, Murshidabad, South 24 Parganas and Hooghly districts on 11 April 2025 over the new Waqf law and several vehicles including police vans were set on fire. So far 3 people have died during clashes in violence affected areas of Murshidabad district. 2 people died in Shamsherganj and 1 died in Murshidabad Medical College.

What did the Calcutta High Court say?
Leader of Opposition in Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari filed a petition in the High Court on Saturday demanding the deployment of central forces in violence -prone areas. The petition was heard in the special bench of Judge Samen Sen and Judge Raja Basu Chaudhary. The bench said that the court cannot sit with eyes closed. Return peace in Murshidabad and protecting everyone is the main objective of the court. The High Court has ordered the deployment of central security forces in the violence affected areas.

What did the DGP of West Bengal say?
The DGP of West Bengal said that the situation is tense, but is under control and it is being monitored strictly. The DGP also said that he is taking help of BSF posted locally and more than 150 persons have been arrested.

Abhishek Banerjee accused BJP

Bengal BJP president Sukant Majumdar alleged that Mamta regime is sitting blind despite attacks on Hindus in Shamsherganj, Sati and Jangipur. Majumdar said that such vandalism and hooliganism done by a section of minorities will be stopped and crushed in 5 minutes when the BJP comes to power in the state.

‘BJP leaders want to riot before Bengal elections’
TMC MLA Madan Mitra said that BJP leaders want to commit violence in Bengal by speaking directly. What is a little such violence is in all the states, it is the responsibility of the central government which is bringing such a law of Waqf. Before the 2026 Bengal elections, BJP leaders want to riot and want to fight with Pakistan. Amit Shah, Modi and Yogi are responsible for whatever rioting is going on in the country.

‘Conspiracy to separate Murshidabad from West Bengal’
BJP leader Dilip Ghosh said in a conversation with news agency ANI, “There is a conspiracy to separate Murshidabad district from West Bengal. There is arson and sabotage in Hindu areas. Hindus have been murdered, yet the DGP of Bengal is saying that nothing has happened ‘.
