Patanjali Ayurveda: The four-day annual sports festival ‘Ojas’ organized at Patanjali Ayurveda College in religious city Haridwar came to a grand conclusion on Monday. In this four-day event, the college students displayed their talent and sportsmanship brilliantly in various sports competitions. On the occasion of the closing ceremony, General Secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Acharya Balkrishna was present as the chief guest.
Formation of thoughts in the company of Guru: Balakrishna
While addressing the closing ceremony, Acharya Balkrishna informed the students about the deep secrets of life. He said that a human being’s body is formed in the mother’s womb, but the formation of his thoughts and personality is possible only in the company of a Guru. Inspiring the students, he said that the present time is the ‘Aagam Kaal’ for them, in which the teachers are enlightening them with knowledge and skills. After this comes the ‘self-study period’, in which competence cannot be developed without continuous practice and study.
Importance of sports and discipline
Acharya Balkrishna described sports as the ‘soul’ of any educational institution’s events. He said that sports are not just a means of entertainment, but they teach discipline to the youth and work to give them the right direction in life. He called upon the students to give up laziness and carelessness and keep studying continuously to achieve their goals.
Emphasis on true sportsmanship
On this occasion, Executive Chairman of the Indian Education Board, NP Singh also shared his views. Giving the definition of sportsmanship, he said that sports teaches us to respect our opponent. The true spirit of the game is to rise above victory and defeat and respect each other.
In this closing ceremony, many senior members of Patanjali family, teachers and a large number of students including Dr. Girish KJ, Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Sadhvi Devasumana, Sadhvi Devaswasti and Sadhvi Devavibha were present. At the end of the program, the winning players were rewarded and encouraged.
