Year Ender 2025: The year 2025 was full of ups and downs for startups. While on one hand many companies started, on the other hand some old and well-known startups had to stop their journey. Due to changing markets and failure to raise funds, these startups had to close their operations.

1. Hike
The beginning of the hike was excellent. It was said to compete with global messaging platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram. Hike was started in 2012 by Bharti Mittal’s son Kevin Mittal.
In the first four years of its launch, the company had received funding of $250 million from venture capital firms like Tiger Global, SoftBank and Tencent. However, due to competition in the year 2021, the company’s messaging service was stopped. After this the company focused on money gaming platform. The company has closed its operations after the government completely banned real money gaming apps in September 2025.
2. Dunzo
Dunzo has been one of the early players in the hyperlocal delivery segment in India. In the year 2022, the company had raised a huge funding of $ 240 million from Reliance Retail. However, with time many other players came into the market.
With the entry of players like Zepto, Swiggy Instamart and Blinkit, Dunzo’s hold in the market weakened. The company’s journey ended in 2025.
3. Otipy
Otipy was started in the year 2020 during the lockdown. It was a subscription based grocery delivery service providing company. Due to lack of funds, this startup closed in the year 2025.
4. BluSmart
BlueSmart was started in 2019, it was a cab service company like Ola and Uber. The company had promised EV and salary based driver service. However, the company suffered losses due to allegations of financial irregularities. The company’s operations were discontinued this year.
