According to the Central Meteorological Agency, the earthquake occurred in Taiwan’s north-east coastal city Yilan at 23.05 on Saturday night. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 32.3 kilometers east of Yilan County Hall.

The fire agency gave this information on X. The agency told people to protect themselves first. Stay away from dangerous things. Keep shoes and torch near the bed. Take any action only after the shaking stops. This can prevent injuries.

No damage of any kind
At present, the Taipei administration has said that there are no immediate reports of any casualties or damage due to the earthquake. According to local media, buildings in Taiwan’s capital shook due to the earthquake. Tremors were felt throughout Taiwan.

Taiwan’s Meteorological Department has informed that a new earthquake has been recorded, it comes three days after a 6.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in Taiwan’s south-eastern coastal county Taitung on Wednesday. Due to this, buildings in Taiwan shook. Its depth has been measured at 11.9 kilometers. The tremors of this earthquake were felt in many parts of Taiwan including Kaohsiung. In April 2024, an earthquake of 7.4 magnitude occurred in Taiwan. This was the strongest earthquake in the last 25 years. At least 17 people died due to this. Landslides also occurred in that earthquake.
