He told that Shabana used to maintain distance from him during the shooting. She used to ignore him on the film sets. During the shooting days, she did not understand why she did this.

Jugal Hansraj revealed in a conversation with Pinkvilla that Shabana Azmi used to maintain distance from him during the shooting of Masoom. She was very friendly with Urmila Matondkar and Aradhana. Jugal said, “Shabana ji used to talk a lot with both the girls because she was their mother in the film. Whereas she used to keep a distance from me. She used to ignore me.’
Due to this reason distance was maintained
Jugal Hansraj further said that he was so innocent that he could not understand why she did this to him. He said, “Later I found out that this was a part of Shabana ji’s process. She did not want us to come close because the coldness that was there should have been visible on the screen. Everyone should have felt that there was a discomfort between me and my mother, so she did it very beautifully.
