The brutal murder of Dipu Chandra Das amid increasing violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh has deepened the feeling of fear and insecurity in the entire country. This incident is not just the murder of a person, but a picture of the fear in which the Hindu community of Bangladesh is forced to live today. The things told by an eyewitness of this massacre while talking to NDTV, make it clear that this attack did not happen suddenly but was done under conspiracy and hatred. The eyewitness said, “Dipu Chandra Das had become a monster and not a human being who committed murder.”
According to eyewitnesses, Dipu Chandra Das was a hard-working young man, but his hard work was irritating some people. Colleagues who could not get jobs took revenge by spreading false allegations of blasphemy against him. The eyewitness said, “This rumor was spread deliberately to instigate the crowd. Later the administration also clarified that no evidence of blasphemy was found against Dipu Chandra Das, but by then the situation had gone out of hand.”

On the day of the incident, Dipu Chandra Das was called to the HR department of the factory. There he was forced to resign. According to the eyewitness, at that time not only the factory employees but also some people from outside were present there. After this, Dipu Chandra Das was pushed in front of the crowd standing outside the factory gate, where radicals prepared for violence were already present. The mob attacked Dipu Chandra Das as soon as he came out. He was beaten with sticks and punches, and was repeatedly attacked on his face and body. He became drenched in blood, but the violence of the mob did not stop here.
According to eyewitnesses, Dipu Chandra Das was dragged for about a kilometer, then tied to a tree and burnt alive. All this happened openly, but no one could come forward due to fear.
