Fish Farming: A very good news has emerged for the fish farmers and farmers of Madhya Pradesh. The state government is now preparing to take not only farming but also fishing business to a higher level. In fact, Kuwait’s famous Zabedi Al Kuwait Fisheries Company has decided to expand its presence in Madhya Pradesh in collaboration with Kamdars Care of Indore.
A mega investment and buy-back agreement worth Rs 7430 crore has been signed between these two companies in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. This entire project is being implemented under the Madhya Pradesh Integrated Fisheries Industry Policy-2026. This will not only strengthen the economic condition of the state but will also bring a flood of employment at the local level.
The appearance of four big reservoirs will change
This huge budget will be used in the four most important reservoirs of Madhya Pradesh, Indira Sagar, Bargi, Bansagar and Barna. At these places, fish farming will be promoted through ‘cage culture’ method using modern technology. With the help of this modern technology, about 4 lakh tonnes of extra fish is expected to be produced every year in the state.
Technology will increase profits
The most important thing is that not only fishes will be reared under this project. In fact, with the help of new technologies like aquaponics and hydroponics, about 1.23 lakh tonnes of vegetables will also be produced without soil. With this, farmers will get multiple earning options and their income will be directly boosted.

Jobs for 35 thousand youth
The biggest benefit from this deal is going to be to the unemployed youth and fishing community of Madhya Pradesh. According to the government, this project will create a total of 35,000 employment opportunities in which 15,000 people will get direct jobs and 20,000 people will get indirect jobs.
6000 crore export plan
Apart from this, modern cold chains, storage units and international level processing centers will be built at various places to protect the fish from rotting and keep them fresh for a long time. After the preparation of this entire infrastructure, the Madhya Pradesh government has set a huge target of exporting fish and sea-food worth Rs 6000 crore annually to foreign countries.
