The film ‘Dhurandhar’, directed by Aditya Dhar, was released on December 5 and the opening day collection was Rs 28 crores. This opening day collection was not a record collection at all because many such films were released before this whose first day earnings were much higher than this.
For example, apart from ‘Jawaan’ and ‘Pathan’, there are many films like ‘Chhaava’ which made huge profits on the opening day. But as the days progressed, ‘Dhurandhar’ started storming the box office.
Even the makers of the film would not have expected this which ‘Dhurandhar’ is doing now. The film joined the list of top 5 highest grossing films of all time.
The story did not end here. Now the film seems to be the first Hindi film which can also come in the top 3 in this list. Before this, the top 4 grossing films were from South only. Whose record now seems to be broken.
Box office collection of ‘Dhurandhar’
Earning Rs 207.25 crore in the first week and Rs 253.25 crore in the second week, the film collected an impressive Rs 172 crore in the third week also. The film’s earning on the 22nd day was Rs 15 crore, but on the 23rd day the collection increased to Rs 20.5 crore.
Now today i.e. on the 24th day, the audience has gathered to watch the film just like they flock to watch any newly released film. The film has collected a total of Rs 682.46 crore, earning Rs 14.46 crore till 5:05 pm. Today’s data available on SACNL is not final. There may be change in this.
‘Dhurandhar’ will snatch the crown of highest grossing films from South films
In the list of top 5 grossing Indian films of SACNILC, the first 4 films are from South. After this, the name of Ranveer Singh’s film comes at number 5. See the list below-
- Pushpa 2- 1234.1 crores
- Baahubali 2- 1030.42 crores
- KGF 2- 859.7 crores
- RRR- 782.2 crores
Now whether ‘Dhurandhar’ will be able to break the records of ‘Pushpa 2’ and ‘Baahubali’ or not, it can be estimated by looking at the earnings of the coming weekdays. But looking at the speed of the film, it seems that it may soon push both ‘RRR’ and ‘KGF 2’ back in the list.
Let us tell you that this film with Akshay Khanna’s tremendous swag has made a great collection of Rs 1031.50 crore worldwide in 23 days.
