The Indian women’s cricket team has once again proved its strong claim by making a 5-0 clean sweep in the T20 series against Sri Lanka. In the fifth and last T20 match played in Thiruvananthapuram, India ended the series brilliantly by defeating Sri Lanka by 15 runs. After this victory, the biggest question in the minds of the fans is what number the Indian team is now in the ICC Women’s T20 Rankings.
India’s position in ICC T20 rankings
According to the latest ICC Women’s T20 Team Rankings released on 30 December 2025, the Indian women’s team remains at the third position. India has played 49 T20 International matches so far, in which it has got a total of 12,968 points. The rating of the Indian team is 265, which keeps it among the top-3 teams of the world.
Australia and England ahead
Australia’s women’s team is at number one in the ICC rankings. Australia has scored 9,260 points in 31 matches and its rating is 299. Whereas the England team is in second place. England has collected 12,751 points in 46 matches and its rating is 277. India is still a little behind these two teams, but the distance is not considered to be too much.
India benefits from victory over Sri Lanka
India has got a direct advantage in the ranking due to the 5-0 win against Sri Lanka. Although there was no change in India’s position, the points and ratings have definitely strengthened. At the same time, the Sri Lankan team remains at seventh position even after this defeat. Sri Lanka has scored 9,741 points in 43 matches and its rating is 227.
Rest of the teams in top-5
New Zealand’s team is in fourth place, just below India. New Zealand’s rating is 253. After this, South Africa is present at fifth position with 242 rating. West Indies is at sixth position, while Sri Lanka remains at seventh position. Overall, India currently stands firmly at number three in the ICC Women’s T20 Rankings and is ready to give a tough challenge to Australia and England by performing better in the upcoming matches.
