America has arrested Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro along with his wife. China has reacted after this incident. China’s Foreign Ministry has issued a press release strongly condemning America’s action, calling it an open use of military force against a sovereign nation. The statement said that such military action against the President of a sovereign country is a serious violation of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter. China says that this attitude of America reflects its hegemonic thinking.
China warned that this action of America not only harms the sovereignty of Venezuela, but also endangers the peace and security of the entire Latin America and the Caribbean region. Beijing clearly said that such steps promote regional instability.
