Donald Trump threatened Greenland after attacking Venezuela and arresting its President Nicolas Maduro and bringing him to America. Trump said that strategically Greenland is very important for America. Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens Frederik Nielsen told Trump that enough is enough, stop the fantasy of occupation. He said that when the US President talks about military intervention by linking Greenland with Venezuela, it is not only wrong but also disrespectful towards our people.
‘Greenland is our home and always will be’
Responding to Trump’s threat to annex Greenland, Jens Frederick said, ‘No more pressure. No more possession fantasies. We are ready to discuss, but it must be done with respect for international law. Greenland is our home and will always be. Trump had said that America needs Greenland from a national security perspective.

The US President said, ‘The presence of Russian and Chinese ships has increased everywhere around Greenland. From our national security perspective we need Greenland. Denmark will not be able to handle this. Responding to Trump, Jens Frederick said, our country is not going to be sold. No social media post decides our future. Relations between two nations are based on mutual respect and international law.
Denmark’s PM angry at Trump
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said, ‘The United States has no need to occupy Greenland, nor does it have any right to annex any part of the Danish Empire.’ Denmark is a member of NATO and already has a defense agreement with the US. The US is allowed to maintain a military base in Greenland under a 1951 defense agreement.
