Will the budget be presented on February 1?
According to sources associated with the government, the central government seems to be in favor of presenting the general budget on February 1 only. Even if that day is Sunday. Indications are that the government does not want to deviate from the fixed schedule and wants to maintain stability in the budget process.
For the past many years, the budget has been presented on 1 February and the present BJP government wants to continue this tradition.
Important agenda related to budget in the first phase
The first phase of the budget session is likely to last for about three weeks. During this, the motion of thanks on the President’s address will be discussed. The general budget will be presented and the budgetary proposals will be debated in detail.
Besides, the Finance Bill will also be placed in the Parliament. It is believed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself can reply during the discussion of the motion of thanks on the President’s address.
Budget is being presented on 1st February from 2017
The tradition of presenting the budget on 1 February started from the year 2017. In earlier years, the budget was presented in the last week of February. This time, due to Sunday being a weekly holiday on 1st February and Guru Ravidas Jayanti, the question in the minds of people is, will the budget be presented on this day?
