BJP will do anything to win Maharashtra civic elections! First joined hands with Congress and now AIMIM

Bharatiya Janata Party, which claims to be a ‘party with difference’, is once again under the scanner regarding its political decisions. BJP, which had earlier faced criticism for joining hands with Congress in Ambernath Municipality, has now formed an alliance with All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen i.e. AIMIM in Akot of Akola district. There is a lot of discussion regarding this in political circles.

Picture of power changed in Akot

Elections were recently held in Akot Municipality of Akola district. At present, results have come for 33 seats in the 35-member municipality, while elections for 2 seats are to be held later. BJP emerged as the largest party here, but it did not get a clear majority. BJP got 11 seats, which was insufficient to form the government.

New alliance in the name of ‘Akot Vikas Manch’

Far from the majority figure, BJP formed ‘Akot Vikas Manch’ under its leadership. Apart from BJP, MIM was also included in this platform, which won 5 seats.

Not only this, this alliance also includes Shiv Sena of Thackeray faction, Shiv Sena of Shinde faction, Ajit Pawar’s NCP, Sharad Pawar’s NCP and Bachchu Kadu’s Prahar Janshakti Paksha. This new alliance has been formally registered with the district administration of Akola.

The mathematics of seats was set like this

In Akot Municipality, Congress got 6 seats, Shindesena got 1, Uddhav Thackeray group got 2, Vanchit got 2, Ajit Pawar’s NCP got 2, Sharad Pawar’s NCP got 1, Prahar got 3 and MIM got 5 seats. BJP led ‘Akot Vikas Manch’ crossed the majority mark by adding the strength of allies along with BJP’s 11 seats.

Now the question is arising whether BJP is compromising its old principles and political line for the sake of power. After Congress, now the alliance with AIMIM has once again started a debate on the claim of ‘party with difference’.
