The matter of encroachment and violence near Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque located at Turkman Gate in the capital Delhi has not calmed down yet. Meanwhile, on the petition to remove illegal parking, hawking and shops near Jama Masjid, Delhi High Court has ordered the Municipal Corporation to conduct a survey in two months. Let us give you detailed information about this entire matter and what the petitioner and the accused of encroachment have to say. We will also tell you what is the ground reality?
There is alleged illegal parking on the inside at gate numbers 6 and 7 near the main gate of Jama Masjid. Also, the entire footpath from Gate 7 to Gate 5 is covered with illegal hawkers and vehicles. More than 700 shops of clothes, dry fruits, books and bags are being run in illegal encroachments on the government road from Gate No. 12 to Gate No. 2.

The petition to remove illegal parking and illegal business establishments around Jama Masjid was filed by 4 people, one of whom is Abdul Aamir. In an exclusive conversation with ABP News outside Jama Masjid, petitioner Abdul Aamir accused the Jama Masjid administration of illegal parking and claimed that the Jama Masjid administration is operating illegal parking and illegal shops on government land without the permission of MCD.

Not only this, petitioner Abdul Aamir alleged illegal VIP parking inside Gate No. 5 of Jama Masjid, which, according to him, is confirmed by the parking slip and red diary kept outside the gate. In which there is mention of charging Rs 2,500 to Rs 8,000 from more than 40 vehicles every month. According to the petitioner, this diary is a testimony to the recovery of lakhs of rupees every month from illegal parking.

Apart from parking, it has been mentioned in the petition that there are illegal business establishments near the MCD park near Jama Masjid. When ABP News team reached the spot, it was found that from Gate No. 12 to Gate 2, more than 700 illegal shops were being operated here for more than 4 decades. These shops are famous by the name Meena Bazaar. Here someone is selling Kadha, someone is selling dry fruits, someone is selling bags, someone is selling antimony and someone is selling watches.

According to those running illegal shops from Gate 12 to Gate 2 of Jama Masjid, these shops are their only means of livelihood. In such a situation, if the shop is removed, how will the house be run, how will the family be maintained? Some people are also accusing the petitioners that they want to get the shops removed if the money is not received. Everyone has their own fears, their own reasons. Among the shopkeepers, some are missing and some have undergone surgery. Some widow is feeding her children by running a shop on government land.

Overall, Delhi High Court has ordered Delhi MCD to survey the entire area and submit the report within 2 months. In such a situation, it remains to be seen what stand the Delhi High Court takes after the MCD report?
