The fourth season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2026) is starting from tomorrow. The tournament will start from 9th February and the final will be played on 5th February. Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants and UP Warriors, these five teams will participate in WPL 2026.
The mega auction for the upcoming season of the Women’s Premier League was held on 27 November 2025. After the auction, the squads of the teams appear to have changed to a great extent. Will the first match of WPL 2026 be held tomorrow?
The first match of WPL 2026 will be played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers. Mumbai Indians have won the Women’s Premier League title twice. It has won the trophy in 2023 and 2025. Whereas Royal Challengers Bangalore won the trophy in the 2024 season.
When and where to watch live matches?
The live matches of the WPL 2026 tournament will be telecast on Star Sports Network. Whereas mobile users can watch live matches on Jio Hotstar app and website. Women’s Premier League matches will start at 7:30 pm Indian time.
WPL 2026 format
The fourth season of the Women’s Premier League will be played in double round-robin format. This means all five teams will face each other twice in the league stage matches. All 5 teams will play eight matches each in the league stage. The team at the top of the points table will go directly to the finals. The teams finishing second and third in the table will also qualify for the playoffs. An eliminator match will be played between the second and third placed teams. The winner of this match will face the table topper in the final.
