As the voting days for BMC elections are approaching, NCP President Ajit Pawar’s attitude is changing. Recently, some of the statements given by him had created a political stir, while once again he has said something which has made the rift between him and Mahayuti clearly visible.
‘Despite previously being in power over the municipal bodies in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, there was never any arrogance.’ Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said this while addressing a public meeting organized in Pimpri-Chinchwad on January 8. Let us tell you that this meeting was organized as part of the campaign for the municipal elections to be held on January 15.
Power should be used with responsibility- Ajit Pawar
Addressing the public meeting, Ajit Pawar said that power should always be used with restraint and responsibility. He said that he has always believed that service to the public is the basic objective of politics. Because of this thinking, he never allowed power to become a reason for pride and gave priority to public interest.
His nephew and NCP SP leader Rohit Pawar was also present in this election meeting. According to PTI, the Nationalist Congress Party and Sharad Pawar-led NCP are contesting the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal elections in alliance. Both the parties are working on a strategy to reach voters with strong coordination at the local level.
Pimpri-Chinchwad is struggling for basic facilities- Ajit Pawar
Ajit Pawar posted on X that today the citizens of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation area, which is counted among the most prosperous municipal bodies of Asia, have to struggle for basic facilities. He expressed concern that minors are being pushed towards crime and if this has to be stopped then change is necessary.
He appealed to the public to hand over the responsibility of Municipal Corporation to NCP and assured to solve the problems. He also said that the party has fielded such candidates in this election who understand local issues and if they get an opportunity, they will convert it into gold.
