In today’s fast-paced life, where people are looking for ‘quick solutions’ to diseases, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev has once again called for returning to traditional yoga and discipline. Addressing the audience during his daily Facebook Live session, Ramdev stressed that yoga is not just about moving the body, but it is a sustainable lifestyle that strikes a balance between physical and mental health.
Balance is the real health. Ramdev, while discussing the basic principles of Ayurveda, said that the root of most of the problems of modern lifestyle is the imbalance of Vata, Pitta and Kapha in the body. He said that methods like ‘Power Yoga’ and ‘Anti-Aging Yoga’ help in maintaining the natural balance of the body. When these three elements remain balanced, the body is more capable of fighting chronic diseases, fatigue and lifestyle disorders. According to him, “Yoga is the foundation of life, which provides us with discipline and inner stability.”
‘Continuity’ matters more than ‘intensity’ in yoga
Emphasis on daily exercise and diet During the session, he demonstrated simple exercises like Surya Namaskar and Pranayam. He said an important thing that in yoga, ‘continuity’ matters more than ‘intensity’. Health comes not only from doing yoga on the mat, but also from discipline in the kitchen.
While advising to be conscious about eating habits, Ramdev said that we should give priority to natural and home-made food instead of packaged food. He suggested accessible options like peanuts, pulses and milk for protein. Also, he gave strict instructions to use honey instead of sugar and avoid palm oil in cooking.
It is also important to give proper nutrition to a disciplined lifestyle.
Role of Wellness and Supplements At the end of the program he said that proper nutrition is also important to support a disciplined lifestyle. Referring to Patanjali’s wellness and nutrition products, he said that when these products are combined with regular yoga and a balanced diet, better and long-lasting health results can be achieved.
