List Of Double Hundred In ODI Cricket: There was a time in ODI cricket when scoring a double century in an innings was like a dream. The record of the highest individual score of 194 runs in ODI, made by Pakistan’s Saeed Anwar, stood for 17 consecutive years. This record remained beyond the reach of any male player till 2010. Ultimately, this record was broken by the great Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar in the year 2010. At the same time, till now 12 cricketers have scored 12 double centuries in ODI, which includes 5 Indian batsmen. Out of these 12 double centuries, only 7 centuries have been scored by Indian batsmen.

Records of centuries and double centuries in ODI cricket
- England batsman John Edrich scored his first half-century in ODI matches against Australia. He scored 82 runs on January 5, 1971 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
- England’s batsman Dennis Amiss was the first cricketer to score his first century in ODI cricket. He scored the first century (103) in the history of ODI cricket on 24 August 1972 against Australia.
- India’s great batsman Sachin Tendulkar was the first male cricketer to score the first double century (200*) in ODI against South Africa in 2010.
- The highest individual score in ODI cricket was made by Rohit Sharma. Rohit made the highest score (264 runs) in the history of ODI cricket against Sri Lanka on November 13, 2014.
- The record of scoring the fastest double century in ODI cricket is held in the name of Chris Gayle. He broke the record of Virender Sehwag. Chris Gayle has scored 200 runs in just 138 balls, whereas Sehwag achieved this feat in 140 balls.
- Vivian Richards was the first player to score 180+ in ODI in the year 1984. But this record was broken by Gary Kirsten who scored 188* runs against UAE on 16 February 1996.
- Pakistan’s opening batsman Saeed Anwar was the first player to score 190+ in ODI. Anwar scored 194 runs against India on May 21, 1997.
- Saeed Anwar’s record was broken by Australian female cricketer Belinda Clark, who scored unbeaten 229 runs against Denmark at MIG Club Ground in Mumbai in December 1997.
