On Tuesday, January 13, a virtual meeting of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and International Cricket Council (ICC) was held on the topic of T20 World Cup 2026. Bangladesh once again talked about not traveling to India for the World Cup. Many senior officials including BCB President Mohammad Aminul Islam participated in the virtual meeting held with the ICC.

ICC is at its wits end

Bangladesh once again said not to travel to India citing security reasons. BCB said that keeping in mind the safety of Bangladeshi players, their matches should be shifted out of India. In response, the ICC clearly said that the schedule of the tournament has already been announced and Bangladesh needs to reconsider its decision.

Let us tell you that BCB President Mohammad Aminul Islam, Vice Presidents Farooq Ahmed and Mohammad Shakwat Hussain and Cricket Operations Committee Chief Executive Nazmul Abedin and Chief Executive Officer Nizamuddin Chaudhary were present in this meeting.

On the other hand, in the press release issued by BCB, it was said that Bangladesh has not changed its stand on the demand of changing its T20 World Cup venue. It is also being told that due to deteriorating relations with India and BCCI, Bangladesh Cricket Board may have to suffer huge financial losses.

Bangladesh’s troubles will increase

Bangladeshi players may also suffer losses due to messing with BCCI. Indian cricket equipment manufacturing company SG sponsors many Bangladeshi players. These also include big names like Liton Das and Mominul Haq. According to media reports, amid increasing tension between India and Bangladesh, SG may terminate the contracts with Bangladeshi cricketers.
