In the first match of the Under-19 World Cup, the Indian Under-19 team defeated USA Under-19 by 107 runs. Henil Patel took 5 wickets. Deepesh Devendran, Ambrish, Khilan Patel and Vaibhav Suryavanshi took 1 wicket each. Nitish Reddy scored the highest 36 runs for USA.
There were 6 players of the USA Under-19 team who could not even touch the double figures. Opener Amrinder was out on 1, captain Utkarsh Srivastava on zero, Amog Reddy on 3, Adit Kappa on 5, Sabrish Prasad on 7 and Rishabh Raj on zero. In this match being played at the Queens Sports Club Stadium, Indian Under-19 team captain Ayush Mhatre had won the toss and decided to bowl first. USA’s first wicket fell in the second over, Henil Patel dismissed Amrinder Gill (1). After this, other opener Sahil Garg became the victim of Dapesh Devendran after scoring 16 runs. USA captain Utkarsh Srivastava could not even open his account, he was bowled by Henil Patel.
Henil Patel took the fourth wicket of the USA innings by getting Arjun Mahesh caught out, after which he dismissed Amogh Reddy. Half of the USA team had returned to the pavilion for just 39 runs. After this, Adnit Jhamb along with Nitish Reddy Sudini made a partnership of 30 runs, he was out after scoring 18 runs. Somehow USA’s score crossed 100, but after this the other 3 wickets of the team also fell within 2 runs.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi also got 1 wicket
