Pakistan has not chased the target of 211 runs in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. England has defeated Pakistan team by 37 runs. In this match played in Harare, England Under-19 team, batting first, was all out for 210 runs. In response, apart from Pakistan captain Farhan Yusuf, no batsman could make a move. As a result, Pakistan team was reduced to only 173 runs.
This was the first match of both England and Pakistan in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Caleb Falconer played a strong half-century of 66 runs for England. Apart from him, Ben Dawkins scored 33 runs and Ralphie Albert also scored 25 runs. With the contribution of all these, the England team was able to reach 210 runs.
Pakistan team collapsed
Sameer Minhas, who made a splash in the Under-19 Asia Cup, was a flop, getting out after scoring only 10 runs. Within no time, Pakistan team had lost 4 wickets before reaching 54 runs. Captain Farhan Yusuf was standing firmly at the crease like an ‘Iron Man’. Captain Yusuf scored 65 runs. Apart from him, no batsman of the Pakistan team could even touch the figure of 20 runs.
With this defeat, Pakistan team has gone to the bottom of the points table of Group B. England has got 2 points, whereas Pakistan has not opened its account yet. Zimbabwe and Scotland have one point each, both these teams are also above Pakistan in the table.
India is in which group?
India is in Group A in the 2026 Under-19 World Cup. Bangladesh, New Zealand and USA are also present in this group. Team India played its first match with USA on 15 January, in which Team India won by 6 wickets through DLS method. India’s second will be with Bangladesh on January 17.
