In such a situation, a contingent of naval personnel from the European Union will also be seen marching in India’s Republic Day parade. At the same time, this time the strategy of the Indian Army will be visible to the leaders of Europe.
For this formation, soldiers of the Indian Army’s special Bhairav Battalion and Ladakh Scouts, tanks, cannons, rockets and missiles will be seen on the duty path in a manner as if they are used in a battlefield.

Sharing information related to the Republic Day Parade on Friday (January 16, 2026) in the country’s capital Delhi, Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh said that this year the parade on January 26 will be shown in a new battle-array format. This army’s formation will be exactly the same as it is seen in the real forest field.
What is the main theme of 26th January this time?
This year, the main theme of the parade on 26 January is self-reliant India along with 150 glorious years of the national song Vande Mataram. In such a situation, most of the weapons and military equipment in the parade will also be seen as indigenous. These include BrahMos cruise missiles, Akash air defense system, medium range surface to air missile (MR-SAM), apart from C-295, Light Combat Helicopter (LCH).
Indian Army’s animal contingent will participate in the Republic Day parade
At the same time, this year on the occasion of Republic Day, a special and emotional scene will be seen on the path of duty. In which the Animal Contingent of the Indian Army will also participate in the parade in such a large and organized form for the first time. This special contingent includes two Bractrian ponies, four Zanskar ponies, four raptors, 10 military dogs of Indian breed and 6 traditional military dogs already serving in the army.
