Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will meet the local people on Saturday in Indore, Madhya Pradesh after the death of several people due to contaminated water. Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee confirmed in a statement that during his visit, Rahul Gandhi will meet the families affected by the tragedy to show solidarity.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will reach Indore on Saturday at around 11.15 am. He will meet patients sick due to contaminated water at Bombay Hospital in Indore. After this, Rahul Gandhi will visit Bhagirathpura to meet the victims.
During this visit of Rahul Gandhi, Congress party will also protest against the state government on the issue of contaminated water. The demonstration will be held by the Congress party in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Umang Singhar.
According to Madhya Pradesh Media Cell, a statewide protest will be organized across Madhya Pradesh, during which Congress workers in Indore will stage a sit-in near the statues of Mahatma Gandhi.

Before Rahul Gandhi’s visit, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attacked. Addressing a program in Indore, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the government has understood the pain of the people of Bhagirathpura and has taken all possible steps to provide help to the affected people.
He said, ‘It is unfortunate that Congress takes disasters as an opportunity for politics. We have taken this issue very seriously and felt the pain with sensitivity. I would advise them to take up this issue with positivity. We will welcome your suggestions, but if you do politics during the disaster, the people of Indore will not forgive you.

State Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya also criticized the Congress for questioning Indore’s claim as the cleanest city in the country.
