NEET UG 2026 is an important examination for students preparing to make a career in the medical field. Through this examination, one can get admission in many medical courses including MBBS, BDS, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Nursing. NEET exam is conducted every year by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and lakhs of students from across the country participate in it.
when will the exam be held
NEET UG 2026 exam is likely to be held on the first Sunday of May 2026. However, its official date will be announced later by NTA. This examination will be taken in offline mode i.e. pen-paper based format and the time of examination will be from 2 pm to 5 pm.

A total of 180 questions will be asked in NEET UG 2026. There will be 45-45 questions from Physics and Chemistry while 90 questions from Biology. The exam will be of total 720 marks. You will get 4 marks for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
Eligibility for NEET UG 2026
To appear in NEET UG 2026, a candidate must have passed 12th class with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. A minimum of 50 percent marks is mandatory for general category students, while SC, ST and OBC category candidates have to score at least 40 percent marks. Apart from this, the minimum age of the candidate to appear in the examination should be 17 years, whereas the maximum age limit has not been fixed.

After filling the application form, the candidate will have to deposit the fee through online medium. The application fee for general category has been fixed at Rs 1700, for OBC and EWS at Rs 1600 and for SC, ST category at Rs 1000.

How to apply?
- First of all go to the official website of NEET neet.nta.nic.in.
- Click on “NEET UG 2026 Registration” link on the homepage.
- Fill the required information like name, mobile number, email ID and create a password.
- Complete the registration by entering the OTP received on mobile and email.
- Now login with application number and password.
- Fill personal details, study information, exam language and exam city.
- Upload required documents.
- Submit the application fee through online mode.
- Double-check all the information before submitting the form.
- Download the confirmation page and keep it safe for future use.
