The Ministry of External Affairs has issued a formal statement. Also said that this could be the personal opinion of the former Japanese minister. This does not match the facts.
The Ministry of External Affairs has clearly said that talks between India and Japan regarding the high speed rail project are progressing positively. Besides, construction work is also going on at a fast pace.
Regarding the MAHSR project, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal has said that talks between India and Japan regarding the Mumbai and Ahmedabad high speed train are going well. Japan will provide E-20 train series. It will be available in the early 2030s.

No proposal was received from Japan in this matter. The work on implementing the project is in line with the common goal of starting the high speed train project as soon as possible.
Actually, the former minister of Japan had posted on X making allegations. He had claimed that Indian officials were responsible for the delay in the Mumbai and Ahmedabad Bullet Train projects. Indian officials did not keep their promises several times during the talks. Only your interests are given priority. The Indian side bears 100 percent responsibility for the project not going ahead.
